What this site is
This site gathers forest fires larger than 100 hectares that occurred in Gironde and Les Landes, from public data. It asks for no account, offers no form and accepts no file upload.

Audience measurement
Traffic is measured by Umami, hosted by the publisher on stats.saro.app, on the same machine as this site. Umami sets no cookie and writes nothing to your device. Your IP address is not kept: the server derives a session fingerprint from it, with a salt rotated every day. Because the measurement is strictly limited to that purpose, it is exempt from prior consent under article 82 of the French Data Protection Act.
Retention: 25 months, the ceiling the CNIL applies. A daily purge deletes measurements beyond that period.

Server logs
Technical logs kept for the security and correct operation of the service may contain your IP address. They are used neither for measurement nor for marketing.
Retention: 366 days at most. Log rotation deletes them past that period.

Cookies and third parties
This site sets no cookie and loads no third-party service. The icons, previously fetched from an external server, have been inlined into the pages since 22 August 2026: your browser contacts this domain only.

Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and object to the processing of data concerning you, by writing to contact@saro.app. Audience measurement keeps nothing that could identify you, and server logs are indexed by IP address only: an access request can therefore only succeed if you provide the IP address and the period concerned. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL, www.cnil.fr.
